Players Returning to Their Former Employers in IPL 2024

A new season of the Indian Premier League is ongoing. The Dubai auction held in advance of the tournament captivated the spectators. Here, some of the big names fetched a lot of money. But there were a few of them for whom it was a homecoming.

Some notable names returning to their former employers include Manish Pandey, Shardul Thakur, Hardik Pandya, and Shreyas Gopal. Hardik is the biggest of these four players and will attract the attention of cricket fans and bettors on online cricket betting sites. This blog will look at the names mentioned above and how they can fare upon homecoming.

Players Coming Back to Their Old Franchises

Manish Pandey, Shardul Thakur, Hardik Pandya, and Shreyas Gopal are four players who will be back where it all started to change for them. Pandey will be back at KKR, where he became an IPL legend, and Thakur will be back at CSK. Meanwhile, Hardik returns as the skipper of the Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, Gopal is back at Mumbai Indians, where he debuted in 2014.

There will be a lot of expectations on Hardik and Shardul, who are expected to play a crucial role in their respective franchises. The duo will be popular in IPL betting as cricket fans will be backing them to do well. Here’s a look at the four players who are returning to their old employers:

Manish Pandey:

Pandey, the youngest centurion in the history of the IPL, will be back at KKR. He was at the franchise from 2014 to 2017. During his stay, the right-handed batter made 1270 runs with an impressive average of 31 and a strike rate of 125. During his stay, he also scored six fifties and an impressive 94-run knock in the IPL 2014 final, which KKR won.

Shardul Thakur:

Thakur is back at CSK, where his IPL career took off. The all-rounder had a horrendous start to his IPL career, playing just one match in his first three years at Kings XI Punjab. But in 2017, his career started to turn around at the Rising Pune Supergiants, where MS Dhoni gave him a longer run. In 2018, CSK signed him. He has taken 55 wickets for CSK, with an individual best of 3/28. The Palghar-born cricketer was released in the 2022 mega auction, after which he played for the Delhi Capitals and KKR.

Hardik Pandya:

One of the most talked-about players in the IPL, Hardik led the Gujarat Titans to the IPL trophy in 2022. He will be back with the Mumbai Indians, and that too as captain. It is the biggest homecoming of the IPL, as Hardik started at this franchise before becoming the player he is today. He was let go by the Mumbai Indians before the 2022 mega auction.

Shreyas Gopal:

Gopal, a leg spinner from Karnataka, will be back at the Mumbai Indians, a franchise where he spent some time between 2014 and 2017. He got a handful of opportunities, playing six games and accounting for seven wickets. After his stint with the Mumbai Indians, Gopal went to the Rajasthan Royals, where the 30-year-old again spent four years and featured in many games. Gopal would be hoping for a longer run when he returns to the five champions for the 2024 season.
